The meaning

What Qiyamah means in Islam

The word means the standing, because people stand before their Lord. Its timing is known to Allah alone, though the Prophet peace be upon him described signs that come before it. The Qur'an returns to this Day constantly, not to frighten, but because a life that ends in an account is lived differently from one that does not.
