The meaning
What Barzakh means in Islam
The word means a barrier or partition. The Qur'an uses it of the one who begs to be returned to life and is refused: behind them is a barrier until the Day they are raised (Qur'an 23:100). It is a real condition, with ease or with distress, and its details are not measurable by anything we can observe from this side.
