The meaning

What Mizan means in Islam

The Qur'an says the scales of justice will be set up for the Day of Resurrection, so that no soul is wronged in anything, even the weight of a mustard seed (Qur'an 21:47). Sunni belief takes this as a real scale and not only a figure of speech. Some small deeds are described as heavy upon it, far out of proportion to the effort they cost, which is worth remembering.
