The meaning

What Malaikah means in Islam

Belief in them is one of the six articles of faith. Their creation from light is reported in Sahih Muslim rather than in the Qur'an. They are not male or female in the human sense, they do not eat or tire, and the Qur'an says they do not disobey Allah in what He commands them and do what they are told (Qur'an 66:6). A few are named in the texts, most are not, and their number is known to Allah alone.
