The meaning

What Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal means in Islam

He died in 241 in Baghdad. His Musnad gathers tens of thousands of reports arranged by the Companion who narrated them rather than by subject. Under three caliphs he was put to the test over the doctrine that the Qur'an is created, imprisoned and beaten, and refused; when the policy was finally reversed his stand was seen as having held the community's creed steady. He is reported to have forgiven the man who flogged him, and he resisted having his opinions written down as a school at all.
