The meaning
What Aqidah means in Islam
The root means to tie a knot, so aqidah is what the heart is tied to and does not untie. It covers Allah, His angels, His books, His messengers, the Last Day, and the decree. Fiqh answers what you do; aqidah answers what you hold true.
