The meaning
What Rawdah means in Islam
The Prophet said that what lies between his house and his minbar is a garden from the gardens of Paradise. It is marked today by a green carpet where the rest of the mosque is red. Scholars read the saying two ways: that the ground itself is literally of Paradise, or that worship performed there leads to Paradise. Either way it is a place to pray in, not to touch, and crowding others out of it is not piety.
