The meaning

What Hunayn means in Islam

Twelve thousand Muslims marched out against Hawazin and Thaqif, and some said openly that they would not be beaten today for smallness of number. Archers hidden in the narrow valley broke the front and most of the army turned; a small group stood with the Prophet until the line re formed. Surah at-Tawbah names Hunayn and says their numbers pleased them but availed them nothing. The captured wealth was distributed in a way that tested the Ansar, and his answer to them made them weep.
