The meaning

What Tabuk means in Islam

It was called the army of hardship: high summer, scarce water, ripe harvests left behind, and a distant enemy. Uthman equipped a large part of it from his own wealth. No fighting took place. Its lasting story is the three Companions who simply failed to go and would not lie about why; the community was told to shun them for fifty nights until Surah at-Tawbah announced that Allah had turned to them, a passage that is really about honesty when a lie would have been easy.
