What Hajjat al-Wada means in Islam
More than a hundred thousand people came, and he told them to take their rites from him, which is why almost every detail of the hajj is traced to those days. He stood at Arafah and delivered the farewell sermon there. The verse saying the religion has been completed was revealed on that afternoon; when a Jewish man later remarked that such a verse would have been a festival for his people, Umar replied that it came on a day that was already two festivals.
