The meaning
What Sunnah Rawatib means in Islam
Twelve rak'ahs are reported as the standing pattern: two before Fajr, four before and two after Dhuhr, two after Maghrib, and two after Isha. The two before Fajr were the ones the Prophet never left. Any voluntary prayer outside this pattern is called nafl, and it carries no blame if missed.
