The meaning
What Salamat al-Sadr means in Islam
The Qur'an teaches the believers to pray that Allah leave no rancour in their hearts toward those who believed (Qur'an 59:10), and describes the people of Paradise as having every trace of it removed from their chests (Qur'an 7:43). In a report collected by Ahmad, a man was named as one of the people of Paradise, and the only practice found in him was that he went to sleep holding nothing against any Muslim. Forgiving the person is 'afw; salamat al-sadr is what remains in you afterwards.
