The meaning
What Namimah means in Islam
The Prophet peace be upon him said the one who carries tales will not enter Paradise, in Bukhari and Muslim, and he passed two graves whose occupants were being punished, one of them for namimah. The Qur'an condemns the one who goes about with slander (Qur'an 68:11). It differs from ghibah in its aim: ghibah damages a reputation, namimah damages a relationship.
