What Husn al-Zann means in Islam

The Qur'an tells believers to avoid much suspicion, and forbids spying and backbiting in the same verse (Qur'an 49:12). The Prophet peace be upon him said beware of suspicion, for suspicion is the most untruthful of speech, in Bukhari and Muslim. It does not require ignoring evidence or leaving yourself unprotected; it governs the gap where you do not actually know. The phrase is also used for thinking well of Allah, which the Sunnah treats as its own subject.
