The meaning

What Sakha' means in Islam

The Qur'an says whoever is protected from the greed of his own soul, those are the successful (Qur'an 59:9), and the Prophet peace be upon him was described as the most generous of people, and most generous of all in Ramadan, in Bukhari and Muslim. Scholars place sakha' between two failures: miserliness on one side, wasteful display on the other. The measure in the Sunnah is what remains with you after the giving, not the size of what was given.
