The meaning
What Tamimah means in Islam
Amulets containing the names of jinn, unknown words or symbols are forbidden by agreement, and the Prophet peace be upon him warned that whoever hangs an amulet has been left to it, in reports collected by Ahmad and Tirmidhi. Amulets containing Qur'an are where scholars part company: Ibn Mas'ud and many after him prohibited them without distinction, while Abdullah ibn Amr and a number of Malikis and Shafi'is allowed the Qur'anic kind. Both sides agree the protection is from Allah, not from the paper.
