The meaning
What Khalid ibn al-Walid means in Islam
His cavalry turned the day against the Muslims at Uhud. He accepted Islam before the conquest of Makkah, saved the army at Mu'tah, and then led the campaigns against the false prophets and into Syria, where Yarmuk broke Byzantine power in the region. Umar removed him from command while he was winning, reportedly so people would learn that victory comes from Allah and not from a man. He accepted it and served under his replacement, and died in his bed in Homs.
