The meaning
What Hilm means in Islam
The Prophet peace be upon him told al-Ashajj of Abd al-Qays that he had two qualities Allah loves, hilm and unhurriedness, in Muslim. The Qur'an describes the answer to a rough word as repelling with what is better (Qur'an 41:34). Hilm is not weakness and it is not indifference. The person is fully able to strike back and takes the slower road.
