The meaning
What Wasilah means in Islam
The Qur'an commands: seek the means of nearness to Him (Qur'an 5:35), which the commentators explain as obedience and whatever brings a servant close. The word is also the name of a rank in Paradise which the Prophet peace be upon him said belongs to one servant only, and which he taught his community to ask for on his behalf after the call to prayer. The two meanings share a root and are often mixed up in argument.
