The meaning

What Tawakkul means in Islam

The Qur'an says whoever relies on Allah, He is enough for him (Qur'an 65:3), and it also tells the Prophet peace be upon him to consult, then decide, then rely (Qur'an 3:159). When a man asked whether to leave his camel loose and trust Allah, he was told to tie it and then trust, in a report collected by Tirmidhi. Tawakkul is the state of the heart after you have done what you can, not a reason to do nothing.
