The meaning
What Ru'yat Allah means in Islam
The Qur'an says that on that Day some faces will be radiant, looking at their Lord (Qur'an 75:22-23), and sound hadiths compare the sight to seeing the full moon without crowding. Sunni Islam affirms this sight in the next life while denying that anyone sees Allah in this one. The Mu'tazila denied it altogether, and Twelver Shia theology also generally rejects a literal vision.
