The meaning
What Asma wa Sifat means in Islam
The Qur'an gives Allah names and describes Him with attributes, and it also says there is nothing like Him (Qur'an 42:11). Sunni theology holds both halves at once: affirm what He said about Himself, and do not picture it as a larger version of something created. How far to explain the more difficult descriptions is exactly where the Sunni schools of creed part company.
