The meaning
What Miqat means in Islam
The Prophet named four, one on each approach: Dhul Hulayfah for Madinah, al-Juhfah for Syria and Egypt, Qarn al-Manazil for Najd, and Yalamlam for Yemen. Dhat Irq, for those coming from Iraq, was fixed by Umar, and some report it from the Prophet as well. Anyone travelling through one, including passengers on a flight passing over it, enters ihram there or before. There is also a miqat in time: the months of hajj, Shawwal, Dhul Qa'dah and the first days of Dhul Hijjah.
