The meaning
What Hady means in Islam
The word means a gift brought forward. It is a sheep or goat per pilgrim, or a seventh share of a camel or cow, slaughtered after the stoning on the tenth. The Qur'an says neither the meat nor the blood reaches Allah, only the God consciousness of the giver. It is different from the qurbani offered by Muslims everywhere at Eid, and different again from a dam owed as compensation.
