The meaning
What Laylat al-Qadr means in Islam
A whole surah is named for it, and it says worship in that one night is better than a thousand months, which is more than eighty years. It is sought in the last ten nights of Ramadan, and most strongly in the odd ones, with the twenty seventh most commonly named; the Prophet peace be upon him said to seek it rather than announced it, and the scholars read that hiding as mercy, so that the whole ten are revived. The du'a taught for it asks Allah, who loves to pardon, for pardon.
