The meaning
What Ghar Hira means in Islam
It sits near the top of Jabal an-Nur, the mountain of light, a hard climb even now. He used to withdraw there for nights at a time before prophethood, and it was there that Jibril pressed him and said Read. He came home shaking and asked to be covered, and Khadijah wrapped him and told him Allah would never disgrace him. He is not reported to have returned to the cave afterwards, so climbing it is a matter of history, not a rite.
