What Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, Isha means in Islam

Fajr runs from true dawn until sunrise. Dhuhr begins once the sun has passed its highest point. Asr fills the later afternoon, Maghrib begins at sunset, and Isha begins once the twilight has gone and lasts until dawn. The schools differ over exactly when Asr begins, and over which twilight closes the time of Maghrib, which is why mosques in the same city sometimes call these times an hour apart.
