The meaning

What Aqiqah means in Islam

The reports name two sheep for a boy and one for a girl, and the majority treat it as a strong sunnah rather than an obligation; the Zahiris held it obligatory. It is done on the seventh day where that is possible, and it is not invalid later. The head is shaved and something is given in charity, and the child is named. Nothing in it requires expense a family does not have, and a family that cannot afford it owes nothing.
