The meaning
What Badr means in Islam
It began as an attempt to intercept a caravan and became a pitched fight against roughly a thousand Quraysh. The Qur'an calls the day the Furqan, the day of separation, and describes angels sent to support the believers. Fathers faced sons and brothers faced brothers in it. Those who fought at Badr, the Badriyyun, hold a rank of their own; the Prophet indicated that Allah had looked upon them and forgiven them.
