The meaning
What Tawhid al-Rububiyyah means in Islam
This is the belief that there is one Creator running one universe, and the Qur'an notes that even the idolaters of Makkah admitted this much when asked who made the heavens and the earth. That is why it is not, by itself, enough to make someone a Muslim. The three part division of tawhid is a teaching framework, used widely since Ibn Taymiyyah; some scholars prefer a two part arrangement, and the difference is about how to teach it rather than what is true.
