The meaning

What Tasbih means in Islam

The Prophet peace be upon him said two phrases are light on the tongue and heavy on the scale, subhan Allah wa bihamdih and subhan Allah al-azim, in Bukhari and Muslim, and he taught the counts said before sleeping. He counted on his fingers and told the women to do the same, since the fingers will be asked to testify, in Abu Dawud and Tirmidhi. Counting with beads was not the practice of his time; most later scholars allowed it as a tool, while some regarded it as an unwarranted addition.
