The meaning
What Adhkar means in Islam
These are supplications the Prophet peace be upon him taught for particular moments, gathered in works such as al-Nawawi's al-Adhkar and, in our time, Hisn al-Muslim. Attaching remembrance to fixed times rather than to feelings is what allows it to survive a bad week. The wording is best kept as it was narrated, and the strength of the reports varies, so reliable collections mark which ones are authentic.
