The meaning

What Salman al-Farisi means in Islam

He left his father's fire worship for Christianity, served a succession of monks, and was told by the last of them that a prophet was about to appear in a land of date palms. On the way he was betrayed and sold as a slave into Madinah, where he recognised the signs he had been described. The Companions helped him buy his freedom. At the Trench it was his suggestion, unknown to the Arabs, that saved the city, and the Prophet is reported to have said Salman is of us, the people of the house.
