The meaning
What Mustahabb means in Islam
It covers the great mass of good practice, from the voluntary prayers around the obligatory ones to greeting people first and using the siwak. Mustahabb, mandub, sunnah and nafl are used almost interchangeably, with fine distinctions between the schools. Nobody is called to account for missing a mustahabb, which is why it should never be pressed on another person as though it were fard.
