The meaning
What Matruk means in Islam
Matruk sits just above fabricated. It is described as severely weak, da'if jiddan, and unlike ordinary weakness it cannot be repaired by supporting chains. When a book says a narrator is matruk al-hadith, the discussion is effectively over.
