The meaning
What Iqamah means in Islam
Its words are almost those of the adhan, with the added line qad qamat as-salah, the prayer has begun. Hanafis repeat its phrases as in the adhan; the other three schools say most of them once. It is also given, quietly, by a person praying alone, and the schools differ over how binding it is.
