The meaning
What Ghusl means in Islam
It is required after intercourse or sexual discharge, and at the end of menstruation and postnatal bleeding. It is recommended before Jumu'ah, the two Eids, and entering ihram. At minimum it is an intention and water reaching every part of the skin and hair; the schools differ over whether rinsing the mouth and nose, and rubbing the skin, are obligatory or recommended. A ghusl done properly also counts for wudu.
