Abu Bakr answered the crisis of his death with a verse

The Prophet ﷺ died in Madinah in the month of Rabi al-Awwal in the eleventh year after the migration, which is 632 CE, in Aisha's room, and was buried where he died. The exact day is given as the twelfth by most of the sources, though some give the first or the second, and the conversions disagree. Umar refused at first to accept that he was dead. Abu Bakr came in, uncovered his face, then went out and recited the verse in Surah Al Imran which says that Muhammad is only a messenger, that messengers have passed away before him, and asks whether they would turn back if he died. Umar said his legs would not carry him.
