He walked out to Quba every Saturday to pray two units

Quba was a settlement on the southern edge of Yathrib. The Prophet ﷺ stopped there for several days before entering the town in 622 and had a mosque built, the first built after the migration. Bukhari and Muslim both record that afterwards he went out to Quba every Saturday, sometimes riding and sometimes walking, and prayed two units there. Many commentators identify Quba with the Qur'anic phrase about a mosque founded on God consciousness from the first day, though others read that verse as referring to his own mosque in the town. The present building on the site is modern, rebuilt in the 1980s, and stands about three kilometres from the Prophet's mosque.
