The meaning
What Taslim means in Islam
You say as-salamu alaykum wa rahmatullah while turning the face to the right shoulder, then repeat it to the left. Until the taslim you are still in prayer and its restrictions apply. Some schools treat only the first salam as obligatory and the second as recommended.
