السَّكْتَة

The meaning

What Saktah means in Islam

It keeps two words from running together in a way that could mislead the ear. In the Hafs reading there are four of them, in al-Kahf, Ya-Sin, al-Qiyamah and al-Mutaffifin, and the mushaf marks each with a small seen. Other readings place their pauses differently.
