The meaning
What Tadabbur means in Islam
The root means to look at the far end of a thing, to follow it to its outcome. The Qur'an names this as the purpose of its revelation and asks more than once whether people reflect on it at all. Tadabbur is not tafsir: it needs no training, only attention, honesty, and enough of the meaning to know what you are reading.
