The meaning

What Sajdah Tilawah means in Islam

The mushaf marks these verses in the margin, usually with the word sajdah and a line above the text. The schools count them differently, at eleven, fourteen or fifteen, so mushafs printed in different regions mark a different number of them. It is a single prostration, and most scholars hold it is recommended rather than required, including for someone who is only listening.
