The meaning

What Ruku' (Qur'an division) means in Islam

The word is the same one used for bowing in prayer, because an imam would recite one such passage and then bow. It groups a handful of verses that hang together, which makes it a natural unit for tarawih and for memorising. It is a later reading aid and is absent from most Arab printings.
