The meaning
What Ruku' means in Islam
From the standing position you bow with the back straight and the hands resting on the knees, saying subhana rabbiyal azim, glory to my Lord the Magnificent. The Qur'an repeatedly commands the believers to bow, and the posture is one of the pillars of the prayer without which a rak'ah does not count.
