The meaning
What Maturidi means in Islam
It grew in Samarqand and became the creed of most Hanafis, and so of much of Turkey, Central Asia, and the Indian subcontinent. It stands close to the Ash'ari school and differs on a set of fine points, such as how far reason alone can establish that Allah must be known before revelation arrives, and whether iman itself increases and decreases. Each school counts the other as Sunni.
