The meaning

What Isti'adhah means in Islam

The Qur'an instructs it directly: when you recite the Qur'an, seek refuge with Allah from Shaytan the rejected. It is said once at the start of a sitting, not before every verse, and it is not itself part of the Qur'an. Most scholars treat it as strongly recommended rather than obligatory.
