The meaning
What Idgham means in Islam
The six letters are gathered in the word yarmaloon: ya, ra, meem, lam, waw and nun. With ya, nun, meem and waw the merge keeps a nasal hum; with lam and ra it does not. The term also covers any two identical or close letters running together, as when a word ending in dal meets a word beginning with dal.
