The meaning

What Dhabihah means in Islam

The throat is cut swiftly with a sharp blade, severing the windpipe and the blood vessels, and the animal must be alive and treated gently beforehand; the Prophet ordered the blade to be sharpened, the animal spared distress, and the knife kept out of its sight. The Qur'an also permits the food of the People of the Book, and scholars differ over whether ordinary commercial meat in Jewish and Christian countries falls under that permission. Pork, blood, carrion and anything dedicated to other than Allah remain forbidden either way.
