The meaning

What Ijarah means in Islam

The Qur'an mentions hiring a worker in the story of Musa in Madyan and instructs that a nursing mother be paid her due. The contract needs a defined benefit, a defined period and a known wage agreed in advance. The reported instruction to give the worker his wage before his sweat dries is the most quoted line in the whole chapter. In Islamic finance, ijarah is the leasing structure used in place of an interest bearing loan.
